Ivey-CLC Conservation Leadership Program

Canada’s conservation sector faces unprecedented challenges that demand bold, strategic leadership. As climate change accelerates and biodiversity loss threatens our natural heritage, conservation leaders must evolve beyond traditional approaches to drive transformative impact at scale. Many dedicated professionals find themselves constrained by cautious decision-making, resource limitations, and organizational inertia that prevents the ambitious action nature and community desperately need.

The Conservation Leadership Program addresses this critical gap through a partnership between the Centre for Land Conservation and Ivey Business School’s Academy. Co-designed specifically for the unique challenges facing Canadian land conservation organizations today, this intensive five-day program empowers emerging leaders from land trusts, Indigenous communities, government agencies, and committed private sector organizations to think bigger, act boldly, and embrace the entrepreneurial mindset essential for scaling conservation efforts. Participants will develop advanced skills in strategic thinking, negotiation, and change leadership while building the professional networks necessary to drive collaborative outcomes across sectors and secure Canada’s natural legacy for future generations.
